Susan began her extensive career in the real estate industry by obtaining her Salesman’s License in the early 1990’s in Orlando, Florida, to help out in her husband’s family business of land development and sales. Her full-time position was working for Centex Homes’ Title Company as a Production Manager. In 1996, her family (husband, Art, son, AJ, and daughter, Alyson) all made the move to Gainesville. Susan obtained her Broker License and opened her own real estate company, McQuillan Real Estate. Beginning in 2004, she spent two years studying and pursuing her certification in Residential Appraising with Mary Jackson, a long-time local appraiser and then moved into sales/rental with a local real estate firm when Mary retired. In 2011, she became the broker/manager at Watson Realty Corp for the property management division. In January, 2014, Susan was promoted to Vice President and Regional Director of the Central Florida area, where she oversees nine offices. Susan is also very involved in the community as she has served on the Alachua County Planning Commission Board, Catholic Charities Board, and as a member of the Affordable Housing Commission. She has a focused leadership role in many other real estate communities such as Women’s Council of Realtors both locally and state, active member of Gainesville Association of Realtors (served as President in 2018), Florida Realtors and National Association of Residential Property Managers. She was awarded the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year for the WCR Gainesville Chapter, 2017 Presidents Award for WCR Florida State and 2019 Realtor of the Year for Gainesville-Alachua County Board of Realtors.
